Product media

Product media helps customers see and understand what you're selling. Avvyr supports images, videos, PDFs, and other documents — all managed from the Assets tab on the product editor.

Media types

The Assets tab separates media into two sections:

Images

Image files (JPEG, PNG, WebP, etc.) are displayed as visual previews with:

• Thumbnail preview — A visual representation of the image.
• Dimensions — Width × height in pixels (shown on hover).
• Position number — The order position in the bottom-left corner.
• Status badge — Indicates whether the asset is enabled or disabled.
• Main image badge — The first image in the list is automatically marked as the main product image used as the primary display image on the storefront.

Documents and other files

Non-image files such as PDFs, videos, and other documents are displayed with type-specific icons:

• 📄 PDF documents
• 🎬 Video files
• 📁 Other documents

Each document shows its MIME type on hover and has the same position and status indicators as images.

Adding media to a product

You can add media to a product from the Assets tab:

1. Open a product and go to the Assets tab.
2. Browse or search for existing assets in the media manager.
3. Select assets to attach them to the product.

You can also upload new assets directly:

• Upload by file — Drag and drop files or use the file picker.
• Upload by URL — Provide a URL to an image or file to import.

Uploaded assets are stored in the central asset library and automatically attached to the product.

Reordering media

The display order of product media matters — the first image becomes the main product image shown on the storefront.

To reorder media:

1. On the Assets tab, hover over an asset card to reveal the drag handle.
2. Drag and drop the asset to its new position.
3. The order is saved automatically.

Image assets and document assets are ordered independently — reordering an image won't affect document positions, and vice versa.

Asset card actions

Hover over any asset card to access quick actions:

• Download — Download the original file.
• Link — Copy the asset URL.
• Maximize — Open a larger preview.
• Drag handle — Reorder the asset.

Click on an asset card to navigate to the full asset overview in the asset library.

Image optimization

All images uploaded to Avvyr are automatically processed and served through the Assets API:

• Images are optimized for web delivery.
• CDN-based delivery ensures fast loading times worldwide.
• Multiple image sizes and formats are generated automatically for responsive display.

Best practices

• Use high-quality images — Upload images at the highest resolution available. Avvyr handles resizing and optimization automatically.
• Set the right first image — The first image becomes the main product image. Drag it to the first position if it's not already there.
• Add multiple angles — Show the product from different perspectives to help customers make informed decisions.
• Include documents when relevant — Attach specification sheets, size guides, or assembly instructions as PDF documents.
• Keep assets organized — Enable or disable assets rather than removing them, so you can easily reactivate them later.
