Registers

Manage POS cash registers, register profiles, and understand register statuses.

Registers represent individual cash register stations in your stores. Each register is tied to a business unit and can only be used by one salesperson at a time.

Managing registers

Registers are managed under Settings → Markets → Market → POS Registers. The page shows all registers grouped by business unit, with their current status and assigned user.

Register information

Each register displays:

FieldDescription
NameThe internal reference name for this register.
ReferenceA unique register reference identifier.
StatusCurrent operational status (see below).
Business UnitThe store or location this register belongs to.
Assigned UserThe salesperson currently logged in (shown with a "Live" badge if active).

Register statuses

StatusDescription
ReadyAvailable — can be opened by a salesperson.
Used / ActiveCurrently in use by a salesperson.
Awaiting RegistrationCreated but not yet registered for fiscal compliance.
InactiveDisabled and not available for use.
ClosedHas been closed after a day-end procedure.

Register actions

From the register management view, you can:

  • Manage register — Open the register management panel to see details, active user, and quick actions.
  • Force close — Log out the active user and close the register. Use this only in emergencies (e.g., a salesperson forgot to log out).
  • View journal — See the transaction history for this register.
  • Register settings — Configure register-specific options.
Force closing a register should only be used for emergencies or when a salesperson has forgotten to log out. Under normal circumstances, the salesperson should close the register through the day-end procedure.

Import and export

You can import and export registers in bulk from the POS Registers page. This is useful when setting up multiple stores or migrating register configurations.

Register profiles

Register profiles define shared settings that can be applied to one or more registers. Manage profiles under Settings → Markets → Market → POS Registers → Profiles.

Creating a profile

  1. Click Create on the profiles page.
  2. Enter a Name for the profile.
  3. Optionally mark it as the Default profile.
  4. Click Create.

Switching profiles

A register's active profile can be changed from within the POS under Settings → Register Profile. This lets staff switch between profiles without leaving the POS.

Opening a register

When logging into POS in Register mode:

  1. Select a business unit — Only business units with POS enabled are shown.
  2. Select a register — Only registers with status "Ready" are selectable. Registers already in use are shown but disabled.
  3. Click Open Register.
  4. Enter your 6-digit PIN to log in.

The system remembers the last register you used and automatically selects it next time, showing a hint: "The same register was selected automatically to keep your settings and history."

Already logged in elsewhere

If your account is already active on another register, you'll see a prompt to either continue on the new register (which logs you out of the other one) or cancel.
